Turnkey solution for managers to plug in into a Professional Investment Fund (PIF) platform

Commenting on the launch, Pierre Maliczak, Managing Director of Altarius Group, says: “There is a very strong demand for small to medium size sub-funds, that are quick and easy to set up, cost efficient and flexible as far as assets, leverage and diversification are concerned.

Through PARAGON we are now able to offer clients an all-in ready to go solution where we coordinate all aspects related to the fund, including distribution.

This allows fund managers to focus on what they do best – managing assets.

PARAGON SICAV PLC is a MFSA-licensed open-ended collective investment scheme registered in Malta as a Professional Investor Fund (PIF) and is constituted as multi-fund public limited company with variable share capital. Its key advantages are:

Independence: One of the first Maltese independent fund platforms fully dedicated to third party fund managers. Furthermore, we do not manage any money for our own account.  Therefore we do not compete with other investment managers, we are their partners.

Segregated assets: The assets and liabilities of each sub-fund are legally treated as ring-fenced from one another.

Malta is cost efficient but a standalone structure might become costly, especially with little assets under management. Within Paragon, set up and running costs are mitigated between all the sub-funds of the platform.

Timing: 8-10 weeks.

Flexibility: PARAGON is a genuine open architecture investment solution. The client can choose his preferred service providers (not required to be Malta-based) or choose from a list of service providers with whom Altarius AM has standing agreements. Here are some benefits:

No minimum AUM required and no minimum lock up period. Unlike UCITS, PIFs are extremely flexible regarding strategies, liquidity, reporting, leverage or other diversification ratios. No income and capital gains tax applies to non-Maltese investors.

Control: When properly licensed, the client fully controls the sub-fund via a sub-management agreement. He is responsible for taking day-to-day investment and trading decisions as well as for selecting and monitoring of fund assets.
