Mr. Maliczak is Managing Director of the Altarius Holdings, Ltd. After graduating from Boston College in 1989, where he received a Master of Science in Finance, he worked in the Capital Markets Division of Société Générale as an equity derivatives trader. He then moved to London, taking responsibility at Banque Paribas and then at Bank of America as head of fund derivatives EMEA. Finally, he joined Refco Alternative Investments as head of Europe and as a member of senior management. Pierre is a member of the board of Geneva based Altarius SA, which he founded in 2006. He is also a board member of Munich based Altarius GmbH which he founded in 2010. Altarius SA and Altarius GmbH are the distribution arm of Altarius Asset Management, Ltd; they focus on distributing alternative investments in Europe and promote Altarius Asset Management’s services in Malta mainly to non-European asset managers.
Heinz is the Managing Director of Altarius GmbH and a founding partner of the Altarius Group. He graduated from the University of Linz, Austria in 1993 where he studied business informatics. He worked initially as a market-maker registered with the Vienna Stock Exchange and trader with the Austrian bank Allgemeine Sparkasse Oberoesterreich. From 1999 to 2010 he was the Managing Director of Absolute Plus AG in Munich a company specializing in the setup and distribution of alternative investments, in absolute return strategies. Heinz is an executive director of several hedge funds.
Bjorn Grech is the Managing Director of Altarius Asset Management, Ltd. Amongst other responsibilities, he is responsible for the operations of the Malta office. Prior joining Altarius in 2017, Mr. Grech formed part of a big-four audit firm, following which he spent the rest of his career within the Funds and Asset Management space. Bjorn acted as Head of Fund Services for two MFSA recognised fund administrators and as Head of Fund Accounting and Member of Valuation Committee within an AIFM having offices in Malta and the UK. Mr. Grech holds a Bachelors of Accountancy Honors Degree from the University of Malta and a Diploma in Fund Administration from the University of Manchester.
